Our Certified Surgical Technician working in the operating room needs to be able to quickly respond to the surgeon's needs during an operation.
Surgical Techs also need to be conscientious, organized and orderly, and have the manual dexterity to manipulate surgical instruments.
Professionals are expected to be familiar with surgical procedures and keep up on current advances in the field.
The position also includes functioning as a GI Technician and requires preparation of the room and endoscopy equipment prior to a procedure, assist the physician with procedures, assist to clear/clean the room after a procedure, and processing and cleaning scopes.
Essential duties &
Responsibilities:
Ability to demonstrate aseptic technique and set up and maintain sterile field Assures OR is cleaned, stocked, and closed according to facility policy and prepared for next surgical day Assistance with pulling cases and daily/weekly checklists as necessary.
Prepare and organize the operating room equipment, instruments, and supplies as required for various surgical procedures Assist with turnover of room Able to adapt to a changing work environment, e.

, helping other team members when needed, possibly doing tasks that fall outside the roll of a surgical technician.
Will be responsible to set up and maintain a sterile field.
Will be responsible for weekly OR stocking and cleaning, etc.
Responsible for the cleaning and processing of scopes and accessories and ensures that instrumentation is available for use when needed.
Assists Physician and RN with all Endoscopy procedures, including patient positioning and biopsy/polypectomy.
Ability to independently work general, orthopedic, OB/GYN, ENT, dental, podiatry, urology, pain management, and other related surgical cases including endoscopy.
Assists surgeon during surgical procedures.
Central Sterile Reprocessing responsibilities may include disinfecting and re-processing surgical instruments and equipment.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Demonstrates expertise of sterile processing high level disinfection knowledge and application of American Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) standards.
Requirements
Experience:
Surgical Technologist:
2 years (Preferred, but not required) Knowledge of instrument reprocessing (Preferred, but not required) Endoscopy
Experience:
1 year (Preferred, but not required)) Licenses or certifications:
Certified Surgical Technologist (Preferred, but not required) BLS for Healthcare Providers (Required within 6 months of hire) Recommended Skills Adaptability Basic Life Support Biopsies Certified Surgical Technologist Fine Motor Skills Gynaecology Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
